When the physical survey is over with you will receive a full report of all findings and recommendations as well as a Value based on our findings.
Pre Purchase Survey A pre purchase survey is the most comprehensive type of inspection, and is strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel and is required in most cases by your financial institution. Condition and the overall operation of the vessel are examined. This includes such items as structural integrity, out of water inspection, sea trial, electrical systems, propulsion system, fuel system, machinery, navigation, misc. On-board systems, cosmetic appearance, electronics, and overall maintenance and outfitting of the vessel. For sailing vessels this will also include a full rig, sail and rigging inspection.
This inspection is performed for your insurance company to determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. They are interested in structural integrity and safety for its intended use. Most insurance companies require a survey on older boats. They will also want to know the vessel's fair market value and replacement value.
